Gosaikunda Pilgrimage Tour

The trek to Gosainkund is popular trekking destination as well Pilgrimage sport. This trek however requires previous trekking experience and good physical condition. Gosainkund is a very popular and holy lakefor both the hindus and the buddhists. There is a myth that once upon a while there was discussion between the Gods and the demons a very poisonous substance was produces while preparing AMRIT( immortality syrup), none of them wanted to take the poisonous substance which was going to spoil the world , So Lord Shiva decided to drink this substance. Shiva drank and put it in his throat. Lord Shiva started feeling uneasy and came to this mountain. Shiva pulled water out from the earth with his weapon Trisul (trident)to cool his throat from the effect of the poison..This turned into a spring and is still there. If the lake remains calm, one can see the image of Lord Shiva in middle the lake . People celebrate great festivals two times in a year. These festivals are very important in shamanism. There are other lakes more than 100 lakes. Among them Bhairab Kund, Saraswati kund, Dhudh Kund, Nag Kund, Surya Kund, Bhut Kund etc are very famous. From Lauri Binayak pass the different ranges like Ganesh himal range and Langtang Lirung I and II, Manaslu, Nadgi Chuli and Nagdi Himal can be seen.
