
At first, after arriving in Kathmandu our pilgrinage tour will start from Pashupathinath. It is the oldest Hindu temple in Kathmandu. Pashupatinath temple is one of the biggest Hindu temples of Lord Shiva in the world, located on the banks of the Bagmati River in the eastern part of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The temple served as the seat of the national deity, Lord Pashupatinath, until Nepal was secularized. As well Pashupati area is regarded as one of the most important places of pilgrimages for the followers of Hinduism. Thousands of devotees from within and outside the country come to pay homage to Pashupatinath every day. And on special occasions like Ekadasi, Sankranti, Mahashivratri, Teej Akshaya, Rakshabandhan, Grahana (eclipse), Poornima (Full moon day) the whole atmosphere turns festive and mirthful as people congregate here in a far greater number.
After visiting one day trip in Pashupathinath, our trip will go muktinath by driving until pokhara and fly to jomsom. Muktinath is a holy site of Hindu and Buddhist Pilgrimage. It is believed that all miseries / sorrows are relieved once you visit this temple (Mukti = Nirvana or status of Liberty / Free, Nath = God). The famous Religious spot of Lord Muktinath lies in the district of Mustang and is situated about 18 kms northeast of Jomsom at an altitude of about 3800M with beautiful panoramic Himalayas. The main shrine is a pagoda shaped temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Sets into the wall around it are 108 waterspouts from which pour holy water.
Every Year, Pilgrims from different places including India come in the thousands to visit and pay homage to Lord Vishnu. The serenity and stillness of the place soothes your mind and beckons you into a spiritualistic journey. The Pashupatinath temple is one of the holiest Hindu temples in the Hindu world. It is situated only 5 km east of the city center. The holy river called Bagmati flows nearby the temple. Non Hindus have to be satisfied with the glimpse of the periphery of the temple. Muktinath, Jomsom is a major center in the Annapurna region. though it is situated in a difficult topography there is a world class accomodation facility in Jomsom from where one can enjoy remarkable natural beauty. Hindus regard Muktinath as the incarnation of Lord Bishnu where as Buddhists regard it as Buddha. Muktinath as the name suggestsis said to provide Salvation & has a detailed elaboration in our Dharma Shatras. Muktinath is the only shrine where a combination of Hindu and Buddhist priest Dom is found. A Shradha (the rituals after the death)at the confluence of Kag khola and river Kaligandagi at Kagbeni and worship after that in the shrine of lord Muktianth is heavenly and boon bestowing. One would be enlightened and thrilled to have the Darshan of Lord Vishnu flanked by the idols of His divine consorts Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess earth on right and left.
